Amrita Thapar Miss India 2005 on life after being crowned.
How has life changed for you since you won the title?
My family and friends have been the same but people treat me like a celeb now. And, I suddenly feel grown-up in this one year!
Were you disheartened about not winning the Miss Universe pageant?
I entered the Miss India contest to win. There were no second thoughts in my mind about not walking away with the crown when I participated.
Similarly, I went to Thailand to participate in the Miss Universe contest with positive energy.
It didn't work out but that didn't make me ponder over it. I got a lot of international exposure and I treasure that.
So, what's keeping you busy?
International travelling and the causes I am associated with. Besides, I am into sports like kickboxing and practice martial arts too in my free time.
Are films next?
I am a creative person. And I will sign on the dotted line when something interesting comes my way.
You are also a trained fashion designer?
I learnt fashion designing in Pune. I was studying there since my dad is in the Army. And I am happy that I have a profession to fall back upon.
